The Optima Zones and the Gulf Coast

[Sep 5, 2005] - The crisis on the Gulf Coast of the US has demonstrated many cases of self-less heroism and leadership, however it is sad to note that the human behavior described in the Optima ZonesĀ® has so clearly been demonstrated. The Zones apply to a person, partnership, team, organization, city, county and country. In fact when people get together they often respond to situations and emergencies with a group mind - which is made up of the sum total of the Zone individual people are operating in. In an emergency we come face to face with life and death - and those with more lifeforce fight for life and those with less - accept death that much easier. It has been horrifying to watch masses of people going along with the crowd (to their own detriment) or refusing pleas and instructions of the authorities to leave...

Leadership Crisis

[Sep 4, 2005] - The test of a true leader is when things go wrong - not when they go right. What we are observing in the slow response of the US Government and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to get life-saving help to the people who needed it most is a crisis of leadership. People are covering their bases and taking their sweet time to make decisions and then to assign blame to others, the weather etc. for the slowness. Anyone can look like a good leader when things are going well. However when things go wrong - how fast can the leader accept responsibility for poor judgment and bad decisions? Unfortunately we are trained programmed and conditioned to not admit we made a mistake - for fear of lawsuits and other consequences (including losing face.)

Thought of the Day

[Aug 27, 2005] - "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, eve though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat."

- Teddy Roosevelt

Your Primary Relationship sets the Tone

[Aug 26, 2005] - Your primary relationship influences and often sets the tone for all other relationships in life... at work, partners, friends, clients etc. IT ALSO DETERMINES HOW SUCCESSFUL YOU ARE FINANCIALLY. Most people don't realize that the quality of their relationships = the quality of their lives. There is a direct correlation between a person's level of happiness, success, financial prosperity, overall wellbeing and their primary relationship...

Life is a Daring Adventure

[Aug 25, 2005] - "Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is a daring adventure or nothing.

- Helen Keller

Human Beings and the Universe

[Aug 24, 2005] - "A human being is a part of the whole called by us "Universe," a part limited in space and time. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest' a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty."

- Albert Einstein
